It’s The Weekend + Moms are AWESOME!

Heeeeeey! It’s the weekend! Woohooooo!

What are you all up to?  Do you have any fun plans? We plan on spending the weekend together doing family stuff. We’ll be eating all weekend. It’s what us Terps do best. #noshame #foodisourlovelanguage

Tonight, we’ll be having dinner at my in laws’ house to celebrate my niece’s 8th birthday. Saturday, the four of us will be spending the day hanging out and ending the day with cooking an Italian meal together. And we’re making cannolis….from scratch! We are crossing our fingers that we do them justice (thank you YouTube videos). Sunday, we’re hosting a Mother’s Day brunch. Us big girls will be drinking mimosas and the boys will be cooking. I think we might go see an afternoon movie too.

With it being Mother’s Day weekend, I’ve decided to skip the regular Friday Links  roundup (sorry, no cocktail links to share this week) and share a few thoughts on being a mama.

I’m a Mom. There is nothing on this earth that I’d rather be and I wear that title proudly. Some days are so hard and trying and some days are some of the best of my life. I look at my children and can’t even believe that I get to do this life with them. My kiddos are my world. They are my masterpieces. I feel so blessed that I am the one who gets to be their mom. They have stretched me to be more of the person I am meant to be. They are my inspirations. I’ve written a letter to each of them to give them on Mother’s Day and I’ll probably get all the eye rolls and the all too common response of “We knooooow Mom!” That will not stop me. ?

Mom – whomever that may be for you -celebrate her. If you can, call her. Give her a huge hug. Tell her how much you love her. Appreciate her. Think of her. Honor her. Moms are SO awesome. We change the world. We create legacies.

Nicholas likes to tell me “Mommy, I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you.” And “The best days of your life were when sissy and I were born, I bet.” #truth

100 Reasons to Tell Your Mom You Love Her (“Thanks in part to her, I’ve never ‘poked my eye out with that.’” and “I would live in a sty without her.” Also, “She had to carry me around for like two years.” LOL!)

“Biology is the least of what makes someone a mother.” // Oprah Winfrey. Amen.

Kid President is THE CUTEST. And his message to moms is even cuter.

I hope you have a most lovely Friday and weekend. Stay awesome. ❤️
